One of the greatest features of the Foreign Exchange market is that it’s open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. This allows investors from around the world to trade during normal business hours, after work or even in the middle of the night. However, volatility varies between each trading session, although there is always a market for the most liquid asset classes. Particular currency pairs exhibit varying activity over certain times of the trading day due to the general demographic of those market participants who are live.
FOREX trading hours move around the world: available in London between, Sunday 10:00pm, right through the week, to Friday 10:00pm. This enables traders and brokers worldwide, together with the participation of the central banks from all continents, to trade online 24 hours a day, for FX, Indices and Commodities are slightly different.

The FOREX market is open 24/5 and it is important to know which are the most active trading sessions to suit your trading requirements… For instance, if we take a less active period between 10:00pm – 00:00pm GMT, after New York closes and before Tokyo opens, Sydney will be open for trading but with more modest activity than the three major sessions (London, US, Tokyo). Consequently, less activity means less financial opportunity. Just something to bear in mind for our investors.
